HOW IT ALL STARTED
Booma Pest Control was founded in 2025 by Amy and Michael Johnson. Amy is an Environmental Health expert with over 20 years of experience in public health and pest management, who specialises in Mosquito management,
Amy’s career began in Queensland, working with local councils on food safety and vector control before taking on international roles with Aspen Medical. As Chief Environmental Officer in the Solomon Islands and East Timor, she led outbreak responses and protected Australian Defence and Federal Police personnel in high-risk environments.
Back in Australia, Amy developed the City of Maribyrnong’s Mosquito Management Plan, a role that deepened her commitment to pest control, especially after her husband’s experience with dengue fever.
Booma Pest Control reflects this passion. Named using the initials of Amy’s family, it symbolises their mission to “blow away your pest problems” with expert, reliable, and family-safe pest solutions across Brisbane.
